Rebecca Porter
Rebecca brings over twenty-five years of experience leading strategy and transformational change across corporate, philanthropy, and higher education. Her expertise is in strategy development and execution, financial management and building strong cultures and teams. Her background as a CPA keeps her focused on driving strong ROI, but her passion for lifting others up and leading change have fueled her to leverage her expertise to focus on helping people, teams, and companies not only grow and thrive, but also create positive change in the world.
Rebecca held multiple strategy leadership roles at Northwestern Mutual, a fortune 120 financial services company, including Vice President of Corporate Strategy where she launched a new strategy across the entire organization. She spearheaded multiple large-scale change efforts resulting in revenue growth, cost reductions, and improvements in organizational health and employee engagement. While working for the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, she established their education strategy focused on improving 3rd grade reading and launched a collaboration across non-profit, corporate, and Milwaukee Public Schools that resulted in step-change results in student outcomes and system-wide learnings.
One passion area for Rebecca is supporting women and girls. She spent a portion of her career as an educator at Alverno College, an all-women’s college serving first-generation college students. She was co-founder of Northwestern Mutual’s first women’s employee resource group, and is a mentor and sponsor of many women within and outside the workplace.
Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Marquette University and a masters of business administration from the University of Chicago. She also has completed focused coursework in leading organizational change and renewal at Stanford University.
Rebecca is married and is a mother of four awesome, active children and one puppy and she loves to spend time outdoors running, hiking and camping.
