Raheem Uqdah
Raheem is foundationally a creator and activist whose work involves creating synergies between storytelling, policy, and community engagement. Leading CSR at Curaleaf, Raheem worked to tackle the industry's most substantive issues, from sustainability to consumer education. In his previous role at Grassroots Cannabis, Raheem established the company’s first deep partnerships with nonprofits, helping to define the company’s voice and CSR platform.
Before entering the cannabis industry, Raheem worked in nonprofits to build communication strategies and evolve brands; these projects solidified his passion for community organizing and taught him the value of selling social-good as a brand and experience. Following a long-time interest in urban agriculture and sustainability in the urban environment, Raheem has become certified in low-impact agricultural and permaculture practices and works with organizations to bring these practices into the constructed environment.
When he’s not working, Raheem enjoys music, cycling, hiking, camping, and miniature wargaming. Raheem holds a B.A. in Art & Design, with a minor in Photography, from Columbia College Chicago. He is pursuing his Masters in Public Policy at the University of Illinois Chicago.
