Social Responsibility Strategy & Infrastructure

Client:

Multi-billion Dollar Financial Services Company

Opportunity:

The company saw business value in growing its community impact and social responsibility team. With additional capacity, the team could now build and execute a more comprehensive social impact strategy and plan. This included becoming more strategic in their philanthropic giving, volunteerism and advocacy around key issues important to their customers and to more closely align their strategy to the business and sustainability strategy.

Solution:

  • Uplift conducted a landscape analysis to understand the current state of key community, social and environmental issues affecting the company’s customers and community stakeholders. This included the actions of major government and nonprofit players.

  • Uplift reviewed the business’ strategy and conducted interviews with key internal business leaders to identify the greatest opportunities to align the CSR strategy and the business strategy.

  • Uplift delivered a report that summarized the gaps and areas of opportunity where the CSR team could focus to best drive community, customer, and business goals.

  • Using the research and interview findings, Uplift developed a series of workshops to co-design the company’s CSR strategy roadmap and plan.

Outcomes:

  • A cohesive CSR strategy roadmap that included mission, vision and values tied to the corporate strategy

  • Refreshed CSR focus areas and outcomes with strategies, metrics, and key capabilities that the team needed to deliver on its outcomes.

  • A 2-year action plan that details the key tactics, timing and people accountable for the work that needs to be undertaken to drive the strategy roadmap.
