Modernizing a Consumer Brand’s CSR Strategy
Client:
$9 billion global health, wellness and beauty company
Opportunity:
A major consumer brand recognized the need to evolve its corporate social responsibility (CSR) approach to meet changing consumer expectations and attract purpose-driven entrepreneurs. They decided to establish a CSR Center of Excellence. However, after significant functional and staffing changes, they needed external support to help realize their vision.
Solution:
Through stakeholder engagement and research into specific societal issues the company wanted to influence, Uplift worked with the client to design and implement a global giving strategy that was connected but could be implemented by local offices. Uplift also refreshed the CSR strategy, developed a roadmap, action plan, functional plan and communications plan for the CSR team.
Outcomes:
Developed a five-year strategy road map and two-year action plan
Created a functional support model to aid global markets, including an advisory model, recommendations for global convenings, and professional development offerings
Refreshed CSR programmatic pillars aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
Developed a global CSR toolkit to help markets build local strategies, identify community nonprofit partners, engage volunteers, communicate success stories and measure impact
