Establishing a Sustainability Strategy and Roadmap

Client:

Privately-held manufacturer.

Opportunity:

A North American manufacturer recognized the need to set up a well-informed sustainability strategy in order to meet stakeholder demands and mitigate regulatory risks. Without the internal expertise to carry out the assessments needed to develop its sustainability strategy and subsequently execute it, the company needed a trusted sustainability partner.

Solution:

Uplift developed a comprehensive three-year sustainability strategy and annual action plans to execute the strategy in a feasible way. The process included an assessment of annual emissions across dozens of buildings, a competitor analysis and peer benchmarking, environmental target setting, impact prioritization, and regulatory landscape analysis to understand governmental and supply chain risks.

Outcomes:

  • Establishment of a sustainability strategy roadmap and 3-year action plan to position the company for long-term sustainability success in a way that aligns with its business strategy.

  • Analysis of the company’s annual emissions across the available inventory data for dozens of buildings and establishment of feasible environmental goals.

  • Development of a tailor-made emissions reduction target-setting tool and a business-as-usual emissions model to provide a baseline for future emissions reduction comparison.

  • Identification and prioritization of relevant emerging or expanding regulatory risks across multiple regulatory regions.

  • Peer benchmarking, competitive analysis, and determination of industry best practices for sustainability.

Impact: Setting the Foundation for Current and Future Sustainability Success
